NSW: Rainfall needed in the next fornight to salvage crops: govt
The NSW government has warned that food prices could go up over Christmas .. if it
doesn't rain in the next fortnight.
Primary Industries Minister IAN MACDONALD says farmers could start losing crops if
it doesn't rain soon .. with 63.9 per cent of the state still in drought.
Mr MACDONALD says the situation is critical .. particularly in the state's south.
New drought figures released yesterday show nearly a quarter of the state is deemed
satisfactory .. with around 12 per cent considered marginal.
